Dr Shair is currently working as Tsinghua-Shuimu Research Fellow at the State Key Laboratory of Power System, Department of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University. I received my Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University in June, 2021. My research during Ph.D. focused on investigating the mechanism, characteristics and mitigation techniques for subsynchronous oscillation in large-scale wind power systems, supervised by Prof. Xiaorong Xie 谢小荣.

His research interests include power system dynamic stability and control of emerging electromagnetic oscilllatory stability issues, e.g., sub-/super-synchronous, medium, and high frequency oscillation, in next-generation power systems with high penetration of renewable and power electronic devices.

He is an active contributor and member of various IEC/Cigré/IEEE-PES Task Forces / Working Groups related to subsynchronous oscillation.
